From Binge-Watcher to Blogger: My Journey Into Formula One
Hello everyone! My name is Tyler, and let me start out by saying that my story is a little unconventional compared to your average Formula One fan.
I first became a fan of the pinnacle of motorsports less than a year ago, during the winter of 2024, after binge watching the Gran Turismo movie, the entire Drive to Survive series, and the Senna series on Netflix not long after the end of the season. Soon after that I bought a starter wheel for my Xbox Series X and started sim racing on Assetto Corsa Competizione and F1 25 while counting down the days to the start of the 2025 season.
I'm not sure what it was that captivated me the most, whether it was the sheer speed and skill of the drivers, or that 20 people can share such close quarters at such high speeds, but I became completely enthralled by this incredible sport from the moment the lights went out at the 2025 season opener in Australia.
Why I’m Starting This Blog
Personally, I want every team and driver to do well, and at the end of the day I don't care who wins. For me it's all about the racing. From the strategy calls, overtakes, and rivalries on track to the technical developments happening in the pits, I am completely fascinated by every aspect of this sport.
Even though I'm still learning and growing as a fan, my passion for the sport of Formula One has become unquenchable. Watching all the sessions, playing the game, and researching more information simply isn't enough anymore. This passion ultimately inspired me to share my thoughts and opinions with others, and hopefully connect with other fans of the sport that so many of us eat, sleep, and breathe. What better way to do that than to start my own blog?
What You Can Expect
Being both a new fan of F1 and a new blogger in general, I want to start out by focusing on learning more about the sport as a whole, so you should expect to see weekly articles written from the perspective of a new fan based in the United States. This will include articles exploring the thoughts and questions I’ve asked myself throughout my journey as an F1 fan, deep dives on team histories and driver careers, and race recaps. From time to time I may even share my journey as an amateur sim racer within the F1 25 game.
My Goal for This Blog
First and foremost, this blog is dedicated to those learning and growing as Formula One fans, no matter where you're located.
My main goal is to provide a place where new fans can learn and grow together, share their thoughts, and show that you don't have to be a life-long fan, or even a professional, to have valuable insights. With this goal in mind, I hope to create high quality and engaging content for new fans to explore, while allowing this blog to grow as I grow; as both a writer and a fan of Formula One.
